Music First presents: GUIDE TO 31 NAGOYA RECORD STORES
CONTENTS
2 Recommended Routes for Nagoya Record Store Tours!
Nice to meet you, my name is M from Music First.
I work as a staff member at a record store, and probably just like you, I love records and CDs! I love visiting record stores!
Living in Nagoya and visiting record stores in the city on a daily basis, I found (unintelligibly) that my experience might be helpful to record diggers outside of Nagoya (of course including overseas travelers), and that’s what prompted me to write this column.
We want more people to know about the charm, fun, and existence of Nagoya’s record stores, so in this column we’ve introduced the unique features of each store, while also making it easy for people who are unfamiliar with Nagoya’s subway system, distances, and travel times to get around.
Considering actual time constraints, it’s tough to visit all the stores in one day, so
I’ve come up with two routes, taking into account subway lines and travel distances.
Route A = Nagoya Station → Sakae → Osu
Route B = Nagoya Station → Higashiyama Line Tour
Since everyone has different favorite genres and desired records, you can check out each store’s unique features and details.
You could start with the route that has more stores you’re likely to enjoy, or try one route this time and the other next time (though I’d be thrilled if you could visit both on different days!).
Note that these routes are designed for walking and subway travel, not by car. If you’re driving, feel free to use your navigation system to hit up any stores that catch your interest!
・“Tokyo Edition” is here (IN JAPANESE)
・“Osaka Edition” is here (IN JAPANESE)
・“Kyoto Edition” is here (IN JAPANESE)
・Extra Edition: “Nagoya Record Store Tour in 2010” is here (IN JAPANESE)
※Walking times from the nearest station are based on Google Maps, and store details are sourced from information published on their websites. I plan to update the information as needed.
Recommended Nagoya Record Store Tour Route A
<Nagoya Station → Sakae → Osu>
Start at Nagoya Station (also called Meieki)!
Since “Banana Record Meieki Store” opens at 11 AM, it’s best to grab lunch or brunch beforehand!
